Using "Counting Breath Meditation" helps build mental resilience by not attaching to our thoughts and changing how we react to them. Start by counting from 1 to 10. See if you can get to 10 without a distraction or intrusive thought. If you a thought pulls you off course, start at 1 again and repeat the exercise.
As you practice this simple meditation method, it will become easier to reach 10 and even work backwared to 1 again.

Fire is one of the major elements of survival. It provides us with comfort and morale, provides light, cooks our food, keeps predators away, and even helps to forge weapons. But it also brings communities together- sparking stories and long lasting traditions. 
In traditional Chinese medicine🔥 is associated with the heart and small intestine. When the🫀and soul are filled with fire, they will ignite passion, love, joy, and creativity. But when there is too much fire one can experience anxiety, depression, uneasiness, panic, fear, and lack of purpose. 
Having an imbalance in fire energy can have an impact on sleep and mood function, cardiovascular health, back pain, and burnout. Balancing fire is paramount to sustaining health. 
Find ways to tame you’re fire is paramount. Try finding time to slow down, engage in relaxing activities such as reading, stretching, meditation, massages, listening to good music, or spending time with family and friends.

Stress is usually at the root cause of aging. Whether that be emotional, physical, or mental. When we are hit with chronic stressors it can shorten our telomere length. Telomeres are the little caps at the end of our chromosomes- when shortened they can increase the risk of disease, aging, and death. 
👉 In comes Meditation! Meditation can stop and reverse telomere shortening by lowering the stress response and turning off cellular aging. One meta-analysis compared 11 studies to find participants who meditated had longer telomeres than those who did not. Furthermore, the more hours an individual 🧘🏼 the greater the impact on their telomere biology.

Making dietary changes can be difficult. We often can find ourselves addicted to foods that do not necessarily serve us. We may feel good in the moment eating these foods, but long term they can be causing mental and physical issues. 
Some food/ingredients can actually change the condition of the 🧠. Sugar is one of the main offenders in this category. Sugar is highly addictive and with that it is hard to quit. Instead of trying to quit sugar cold, find foods that you know will make you feel good. Incorporate them into your diet at each meal. You may find that overtime your cravings for sugar are curbed because you are eating satiating and healthy vibrant foods. 
So what foods are going to love you back? Start with anything REAL and WHOLE such as a variety of organic/non-gmo vegetables, fruits, and sustainable proteins and fats such as fatty fish and grass-fed/pasture-raised. 💪🏻

We as a species are part of nature. But we mostly live apart from nature. 
We need nature for survival, yet we forget that we must live in harmony with nature. The human modern world has progressively moved further away from its connection with nature. Why? We have become so conditioned to think we live in parallel worlds but really never cross over. This goes against the very laws of our existence. When we live aligned with nature, we feel alive, energetic, happy, connected, free, and truly human.
Nature is our provider, our nurturer, our healer, it is our home.

Now you may be thinking, wait, the brain is a muscle? Well, no, not exactly. It is obviously an organ. However, it can be trained like a💪🏻. Contrary to popular belief, the mind is actually malleable and can still grow and shape as we age. 
That means if we make brain training a daily practice, we can literally rewire our brain. Make it stronger, faster, wiser, healthier, and inevitably make us healthier. One randomized study found that 8 weeks of MBSR meditative practices lowered the incidence of anxiety and stress. (Hoge et al., 2013)
Here are a few things you can do to strengthen your brain.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful methods of healing. You can change your neurochemistry, rewire your brain, and create mental resilience by using daily gratitude–especially during difficult times. Research has shown that the practice of gratitude can increase overall well-being, lifespan, and even may decrease disease onset such as heart disease, neurodegenerative illness (Alzheimer's), and mood disorders. 
Even if you are not in a tough spot right now, try implementing gratitude in your morning and evening routines. Think of one thing you are grateful for before you step out of bed in the morning and before you lay your head on the pillow at night.

When we are stressed or overwhelmed our breathing can become shallow. We may breathe into the chest instead of our diaphragm (dantien/qi center). When we breathe frantically our emotional state can mimic our breathing, making us frantic. 
Tune in to your breath and allow yourself "breathing stops" throughout the day. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds. Breathe out through your mouth for 7 seconds.

As human beings, we tend to move away from the hard things, we even consciously and purposely avoid them. Why? Well, for starters our brain is built to avoid perceived pain, danger or threats. It was built to keep us "safe." But also because it's so damn uncomfortable for us to face the very things that keep us stuck. We may think if we just avoid or ignore them, they will eventually go away. Truth is, they can actually magnify or snowball, leaving more issues for us to face. ⠀

Everyone’s circumstance is different. It may be our relationship to our thoughts and beliefs, food, substances, exercise, traumas and past experiences, or even our personal relationships. We can give power to these, make them our story, believe them - and protect them. ⠀
⠀
The very things you think may be keeping you safe, are actually the things that are keeping you sick. In order to really move beyond these limitations, we have to face them. Analyze your current habits and then create new and healthier ones. Be uncomfortable with the process.⠀
